Purpose:

The purpose of Australia's contribution is to develop and support the activities of the fund for the purpose of advancing human rights protections and equality of LGBTI persons. The fund provides critical emergency, short-term, and long-term assistance to advance and protect the human rights of LGBTI persons in over 50 countries worldwide.

This contribution is earmarked for activities in the Pacific.

DFAT will participate as a member of the Fund's Partners Committee, which is expected to meet in Washington DC on a periodic basis to review the activities of the fund and provide guidance when necessary.
