Purpose:
Due to equipment limitations on the Interchange Outer East Adult Day Program, choice has unfortunately given way to what is a bare necessity in some cases. Currently, IOE Adult Services operates from seven sites from Ferntree Gully to Yarra Junction - and has just ONE standing hoist. With this grant, IOE will purchase a suitable standing hoist to enhance the opportunities and choices available to people with disability attending, and wishing to attend, the IOE Adult Day Programs. The hoist will also be used on recreation programs and other skill development programs where required. This will provide more opportunities for adults with high physical support needs to engage with their communities and develop essential life and social skills.
