Purpose:
Regional Development Australia Townsville and North West Queensland. This project offers an opportunity to transition job–seekers into entry level civil construction industry jobs to meet current and expected demand over the next 2 years of confirmed projects. The missing link in engaging more locals on major projects is the timely and detailed information on skills needs. Key elements and stakeholders in the jobs pipeline will be brought together through consultations, events and a range of communications to address the construction skills mismatch. Outcomes will include job ready and employment outcomes as well as the development of closer relationships between employers, HR practitioners, training organisations and government service providers that will enhance the opportunities for future collaboration on developing the pipeline of skills.
