Purpose:
Mornington Peninsula's Smart Shire project will enable sustainable, high liveability standards with economic growth, and effectively manage the environmental impacts of high demand from local communities and tourists on our coastal towns. Reduced traffic congestion, easier parking and excellent amenities will be achieved by a tailored system that will integrate smart signage and an app with real–time smart sensor technology to monitor traffic, car parks and pedestrians. Innovative advanced analytics will predict near future scenarios to assist drivers and provide real–time responsive amenity maintenance. It is replicable and can assist councils' asset planning by reducing infrastructure investment with smarter use of existing assets.
