Investigation of the key immuno-genetic drivers of Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma that occurs in patients with HIV infection
Purpose:
AIDS related Primary CNS Lymphoma is an aggressive and fatal lymphoma that occurs in the brain of patients with AIDS. New insights into the disease are required as it is anticipated with the correct targeted therapy that outcomes for this disease could be drastically improved. The Investigator expects to show that the immune response to the lymphoma is defective and that new strategies now available in the clinic that manipulate the immune response, should lead to an improvement in outcomes for patients.
