TREX nuclear mRNA export and healthy development.
Purpose:
Each cell in human body constantly builds thousands of proteins from thousands of RNA templates delivered to cell cytoplasm from the nucleus using the TREX nuclear export machinery. When the TREX does not work properly, healthy development is affected and of the brain, as the most energy-hungry organ, in particular. We will study the importance of TREX in health and disease using sophisticated cell and animal models with the ultimate aim of improving health of whose TREX function is compromised.
