Understanding the kinetics of nanomedicine clearance from healthy and diseased lungs
Purpose:
Respiratory illnesses are responsible for 14 percent of deaths in Australia, although many are avoidable through better pharmaceutical management. To address this problem, a number of inhalable nanomedicines have been developed and are currently in clinical trials to improve the treatment of a range of respiratory illnesses. To date however, the pharmaceutical behaviour of these medications in the lungs have not been adequately assessed and will therefore be the focus of this project.
