Purpose:
This project is expected to involve the installation of 37 CCTV cameras across 3 highly used community recreation venues within the City of Rockingham. Each location has experienced a significant level of anti–social behaviour, vandalism and graffiti. Crime rates at these locations have previously reduced with the placement of temporary CCTV. This project will allow the City to install permanent CCTV infrastructure which will reduce negative behaviour and increase community perception of safety, therefore increasing participation. It will also reduce maintenance costs and assist police in collecting intelligence to anticipate and detect criminal activity.
