Grant Activity:
GIP actions in health and disease - human studies using a novel GIP antagonist
Purpose:
Hormones released from the intestines help control blood glucose after meals. The role of one of these hormones, glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), has never been fully understood for lack of suitable tools to investigate its actions in humans. We have now developed such a tool, that we will use to understand the contribution of GIP to blood glucose control in health and type 2 diabetes.
