Refining the synaptic pruning hypothesis of psychosis in humans
Purpose:
Schizophrenia is a distressing disorder for those that experience it. Despite over a century of research we are still not clear what biological and environmental factors impact the disorder. This research will investigate the role of specific components of the immune system and environmental factors in people with or at risk of schizophrenia and how they impact brain development and patient outcomes. This research will improve our understanding of the factors involved in schizophrenia.
