Grant Activity:
CAR T cells and "A Good BEATing" for cancer therapy
Purpose:

A promising T cell cancer immunotherapy involves an injection of a patient’s own T cells that have been modified to have an anti-cancer molecule, called a CAR, on their surface. Some leukaemias can be cured using CAR T cells that engage antigen presenting cells (APCs). However, CAR T cells used for solid cancers do not naturally engage APCs and have little effect. Here, we aim to produce a new molecule, called BEAT to link APCs and CAR T cells for treating solid cancers.
