Purpose:
Our Maker Space will be a Technology focused area with a range a robotic and technological devices available for students. The equipment to be purchased will be furniture, a 3D printer and consumables, robotics kits and digital cameras. The space will be used during most Digital Technology lessons and all lunch time robotics and coding clubs. It will be located in the Library Auditorium on a permanent basis. Mark Gamble will be the Maker Space champion as he is the Digital Technologies Teacher and the teacher–in–charge of the robotics and coding clubs. Students will be engaged in the Maker Space throughout the year in their Digital Technologies lessons and it will encourage higher student participation levels in robotics and coding clubs. It will be sustainable because it will be a regularly used space encouraging high student participation.
