Grant Program:
Global Innovation Strategy
Grant Activity:
Innovations in Food for Precision Health
Purpose:
Under Supporting Australian Innovation in Asia, a component of the Global Innovation Strategy, this project will look at rising chronic diseases and ageing populations that Singapore and Australia have. Sub–optimal diet and lifestyle choices are key risk factors for most chronic diseases, which increase with age, such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. This bi–lateral, collaborative program aims to empower consumers to make healthier and more effective food, diet and lifestyle choices for a longer healthy life span through evidence–based science and strategic public health messaging. The Innovations in food for precision health program will bring together key research organisations to target innovation activities that will address the challenges of sub–optimal diet and lifestyle choices that increase the risk of chronic disease.
