Description:

The NHMRC-NIHR Collaborative Research Grant scheme (NHMRC-NIHR scheme) supports Australian participation and collaboration in leading international collaborative research through the United Kingdom’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme. The HTA Programme funds independent research about the effectiveness, costs and broader impact of healthcare treatments and tests.

Projects involving Australian researchers, based in Australia that are chosen by the NIHR for funding, may be eligible for NHMRC support.

NHMRC is supporting Australian researchers for the following NIHR HTA 2020 Round 2 research topics:

•20/72 Oxybutynin for the treatment of vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause

•20/73 Surgery for endometrioma in women undergoing IVF

•20/74 Antidepressants for post-stroke emotionalism

•20/75 Conservative management of primary spontaneous pneumothorax

•20/76 Reverse vs conventional shoulder replacement for adults with osteoarthritis

•20/77 Treatment of recurrent patella dislocation 

•20/96 Partial vs total nephrectomy for clinically localised renal cell carcinoma

Round 2 opportunities for funding will be advertised as a Grant Opportunity on Grant Connect in the third quarter of 2020.
